These terms are an agreement between you and Niletu Ltd of Zanzibar, Tanzania. By creating an account or contributing to a goal, in the app or with a Goal ID, you accept them. We've kept them as plain as we can; where the law requires precise wording, we add it, but we'll always try to say it simply first.
You need to be 18 or older, register with your own phone number, and keep your PIN to yourself. You're responsible for what happens under your account, so tell us right away if you think someone else has access, we'll lock it while you recover it.
Contributions move through licensed payment providers, M-Pesa, Airtel Money, Mixx by Yas, CRDB, NMB, NBC, and are recorded in the goal for all its members to see. A confirmed contribution belongs to the goal; it can't be quietly taken back, because the record is the point.
Withdrawals follow the goal's rules: a personal goal pays out to its owner, and a group goal pays out only after the approvals the group set up. Provider fees are always shown before you confirm.
When you join a group goal you agree to its rules, contribution cycles, approvers, reporting. Niletu enforces those rules in the app, but the group itself decides them. Disagreements inside a group are for the group to resolve; we provide the transparent record that makes resolving them easier.
Use Niletu for real goals with real people. Don't use it to mislead contributors, launder money, raise funds for anything illegal, or harass others in comments and updates. We can pause or close accounts that break these rules, and we report what the law requires us to report.
You can close your account whenever you like, after your goals are settled. We may update these terms as Niletu grows; if a change matters, we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect, and continuing to use Niletu means you accept it.
